Herefordshire Cricket Board’s primary purpose is to promote and enable the safe participation and enjoyment of cricket by as many people as possible.

We continue to monitor the ever-evolving and fast-moving situation regarding the Coronavirus outbreak in the UK.

Our collective current approach, alongside our colleagues at the England & Wales Cricket Board, is to follow official UK government advice, as most National Governing Bodies are.

In line with the latest official advice, there is currently no specific reason why community sport should not take place, unless we are advised otherwise by the health authorities or government. That said, we respect the right of a club or organisation to chose to suspend their own cricket activities, if they feel, on balance, this is the right decision for them locally.

We would encourage any cricket participants to continue to follow the widely-available public health guidance, with regards to people maintaining good hygiene to delay the spread of the Covid-19 virus.
We would also advise clubs and other community cricket venues to ensure washing facilities have appropriate provision of hygiene products and we urge participants to follow the public health guidance in environments where they are in close proximity to others.

If any participants, officials, coaches, or volunteers are feeling unwell, especially if they are presenting known symptoms of Coronavirus, please follow the government’s advice to self-isolate and therefore do not take part in cricket-related activities.
