Jack Roberts 20/20 Cup Final (u 15's) Lucton 76/3 Hereford Cathedral 79/0 HCS won by 10 wickets
The match was played on Tuesday 18th June at Pentland Gardens on a wet afternoon.
The match was reduced to 16 overs per innings.
Jack Barrett batted well for Lucton and top scored with 42 n.o. In reply, Freddie Ralph ( 41 n.o) and Harry Sockett (28 n.o) took Cathedral to a good win. Both teams bowled and fielded well in the damp conditions.
Mrs Carol Roberts presented the Jack Roberts Cup to the winning captain.
Hereford Cathedral then went on to play Shrewsbury in the Midlands rounds of the 20/20 competition, where they lost narrowly.
Jack Roberts 20/20 Plate Final Kingstone 136/3 Earl Mortimer College 80/9
Kingstone won by 56 runs.
The final was played at Burghill, Tillington and Weobley CC on Thursday 20th June.
Kingstone elected to bat. Their innings was dominated by man of the match Ollie Langford who scored a magnificent 113 before retiring. For EMC, wicket-keeper Harry Burke took an excellent catch, with wickets for Max George, Harvey Whitehead and Harvey Millichap.
In reply, Max George top scored with 26 n.o. with good support from Harry Brooke 17. 7 Kingstone players took wickets.
Mrs Carole Roberts presented the Jack Roberts 20/20 Plate and the match ball to Ollie Langford .
In summary a good game of cricket played in an excellent spirit.
Chadd Cup ( U14) Bishops v Cathedral Monday 24h June Pentland Gardens Hereford Cathedral School 154 All Out Bishops 111/7
Cathedral won by 43 runs.
After the loss of 3 early wickets, Cathedral recovered through Cameron Hayes (32), Jasper Noonan (18), Alfie Sudhall ( 37) and no 10 batsman Tom Hicks ( 18) to post a competitive total. Ben Roberts took 2-26, Barty Hunt 2-30, Max Cook 2-26 and Jake Webb 3-11. Good catches for Owen Fish and Jake Webb. In reply Barty Hunt (18) and Iolo Bubb (32) got Bishops off to a good start, but after they were out, Cathedral bowled and fielded well with figures of 2-3 for Oliver Bonnelle, and wickets for Cameron Hayes, Will Matthews, Jack Helme, Alfie Sudhall and Charlie Summers,
Mr John Escott presented the Chadd Cup to the winning captain.
Hereford Cathedral will represent Herefordshire in the Midlands rounds of the Inspiresport u 14/15 One day Cup in 2020.
Ed Price Plate (u 14) John Masefield 92/7 v John Kyrle 93/4 Pentland Gardens
JohnKyrle won by 6 wickets
After the loss of 2 early wickets, both to run outs, John Masefield recovered well thanks to a stand of 70 between Jude Locker (45) and Seb Fell (25).Noah O’Neill took 2-5, with wickets for Hotston and Lloyd. In reply John Kyrle batted well to win by 6 wickets, with Luke Timewell (20) and Alex Hotson ( 26 n.o.) who guided them home.
An excellent match played in a very good spirit on a hot afternoon at Pentland Gardens. For John Masefield, Lucas Recordon took 2-6 off 4 overs.
Rhys Price presented the Ed Price Plate to the winning captain.
Richard Wydenbach Cup Final John Masefield 86/5 Hereford Cathedral 90/5
Cathedral won by 5 wickets.
A superb game of cricket on a hot afternoon at Pentland Gardens. Lucas Recordon batted well for John Masefield to make 32 n.o. with good support from Harry Malcolm (17). Ben Yeo took 2 wickets, with one for Gareth Goode and Thomas Kennedy. Gus Wixey 16,and Freddie Norman 16 no ensured a narrow win after a solid innings of 31 from Ben Yeo. Lucas Recordon took 2-13 and Ussher 2-16 for John Masefield.
Mr Richard Wydenbach presented the Richard Wydenbach cup to the Cathedral captain and Mrs Rosemary Burgoyne presented the John Burgoyne Cup to the John Masefield captain.
Richard Wydenbach Plate Final. Kingstone 167/6 John Kyrle 86/9 Kingstone won by 81 runs.
Ollie Langford made an impressive 66 for Kingstone with good support from Monty Kennersley (22). 2 wickets each for Nash, Davies and Hatton. In reply, Josh Davies and Mackenzie Nash top scored for John Kyrle with 12, but two run outs slowed the run chase. 3 wickets for Will Pratt and Will Morris.

David English under 12 Cup St Mary’s 130/2 Weobley 118/3
St Mary’s won by 12 runs
St Mary’s batted well through Theo Darke (52) and Ralph Warner (30) who put on 101 for the 2nd wicket. . Ewan McColm took 1-17. In reply Ely Jones top scored for Weobley with 36 and had a good stand with Ewan McColm ( 27). Noah Wickham and George Stevenson both made 12. Spencer Cooper took 2-20 and Ralph Warner 1-8.
An excellent game of cricket played at Wyeside with much good talent shown in both batting and fielding.
Mr Richard Wydenbach, Hon President HSCA, presented the David English Cup to the winning team.
St Mary’s will represent Herefordshire in the Midlands rounds of the David English/Bunbury Cup in 2020.
David English under 12 Plate Final HCS 124/6 Kingstone 82/7
Cathedral won by 42 runs.
Ben Gillett made 19 and Xeni Chapman 40 for Cathedral.1 wicket each for Lewis and Will Pratt, and 2 excellent run outs for Archie Harrison. In reply Will Pratt made 19, Lewis 20 as Kingstone strove to reach their target. For Cathedral, Chapman took 3-7.
Mr R.Willcock, Vice President HSCA, presented the Haines Watts Shield to the winning captain.
Under 13 Girls T 10
This was played at Wyeside on Monday 8th July. 3 teams present : Lady Hawkins and 2 from Hereford Cathedral. Won by Hereford Cathedral A team.
Cathedral B 32/5 Cathedral A 64/4 A team won by 32 runs
Lady Hawkins 62/2 Cathedral B 53/6 LHS won by 9 runs
Cathedral A 59/2 Lady Hawkins 50 All Out Cathedral A won by 9 runs.
Some close matches with good batting, bowling and fielding in each match.
