NCCA County Coach and Development XI Coach
Job Overview
Reporting to the General Manager the NCCA Coach will focus on managing and improving all aspects of Herefordshire NCCA Cricket and ensure that the best opportunities are available to produce the highest level of cricketer in Herefordshire that we can. As the Lead Coach, you will be the primary coach and leader responsible for overseeing the 1st XI team, and the Development XI team. You will play a pivotal role in the development and performance of cricket within the county and contribute to the growing profile of the sport across the UK.
Principle Responsibilities
· Manage and coordinate match details, selections, and tactical planning for your teams.
· Ensure effective communication between players and coaches.
· Actively scout and nurture young talent.
· You will report to the General Manager and the HCL Board Director (Performance)
· Establish a high quality and engaging programme of activities that allow cricketers to develop and be the best they can be.
· Coaching and leading the 1st Xl Winter and Summer (where possible as many work FT) programme
· Supporting the Development XI session winter programme
· Supporting and leading U18 fixtures where required
· Coaching and leading fixtures
· Attend pathway related meetings as and when required
· Attendance at the Performance Operational Group bi-monthly meetings
Tenure
· This role is 30 days per year across 16 Sundays and a few weekday match days/training. This is not a FT role and is remunerated on a day rate only plus mileage.
Essential Skills and Qualifications
· Minimum ECB Level 3 qualification or equivalent
· Enhanced DBS and eligible to work in the UK.
· Must have significant coaching experience up to and including junior county and senior club level
· Be a member of ECB Coaches Association and hold valid and up to date First Aid and Safeguarding qualifications
· Excellent knowledge of the ECB Talent Development Framework
· Good understanding of coaching structures and programmes to support player development
· Understanding of safeguarding requirements in relation to running activities and programmes
· Good knowledge of how equity, diversity and inclusion is integral to your work programme
· Demonstrable Leadership & organisational skills
· Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
· Ability to monitor and work accurately to an agreed budget
· Good computer literacy, including Microsoft Office
· Commitment to a continual professional development programme
· Good time management skills and willingness to work evenings and weekends.
· Ability to work using their own initiative when completing tasks
· Adaptable nature to accommodate flexible working patterns i.e. evenings & weekends
· Ability to work as part of a team and a strong understanding of inclusion, equality and safeguarding.
· Knowledge and understanding of the Talent ID programme within the England and Wales Cricket Board
· Ability to develop and build strong working relationships
· Full, clean and valid driving licence and access to a car (which can be used for business use)
· Willingness to work unsociable hours and travel across the region. Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle.

Monitoring, Safeguarding and Administration
· Ensure all sessions meet ECB safeguarding and health and safety standards.
· Maintain accurate registers, monitoring data and reports that may be required by funding partners
· Maintain appropriate ECB coaching and safeguarding qualifications.
