HSCA set up and manage all of the schools competitions during the season.
Jack Roberts Cup - Hardball competition - 1st XI team
(winning school will go on to represent Herefordshire as per previous winners of U15 comp)
Chadd Cup & Price Plate - Hardball competition
All years can play in any of the teams at hardball levels, both boys and girls.
Richard Wydenbach Cup and Plate - Year 7/8/9 pupils - 8 a side, pairs cricket, 1 day festival competition
David English Trophy - Year 7 students (non club cricketers) - 6 a side, pairs cricket, 1 day festival style competition
John Burgoyne Cup - Girls only - Pairs festival

Annual Report 2023 Competitions
Jack Roberts Cup Final (u 15's ) Kingstone HS 242/1 St Mary’s 110/2 Kingstone won by 132 runs
In a very high scoring match Kingstone’s innings was dominated by Archie Langford who scored a magnificent 200 n.o., sharing century partnerships with Corey Phillips and Freddie Morris. In reply the opening batsmen of St Mary’s, Elliot Gale and Ethan Bartlett put on 106 for the first wicket, batting very sensibly when facing a huge total. Mrs Carole Roberts presented the Jack Roberts Cup to the winning captain.
Kingstone HS went on to represent Herefordshire in the Midlands rounds of the T20 competition.
Chadd Cup ( u 14’s). Kingstone HS 86/5 v John Masefield 85/9 Kingstone won by 5 wickets.
Eddie Nolan 18 and Harry Dodd 17 top scored for John Masefield. For Kingstone, Freddie Morris took 2-13 and Ollie Lewin 2-4. In reply, Freddie Morris hit a match winning 30 before being run out. Good support from Dom Zawadzi 16 and Lewis Magrie 9.Tim Peddler took 3-9 off his 4 overs.
Mr Richard Wydenbach, Hon President HSCA, presented match balls to Freddie Morris and Tim Pedder and the John Chadd Cup to Freddie Morris, the winning captain.
Ed Price Plate Lady Hawkins 159/4 v Weobley 157/5 Lady Hawkins won by 6 wickets.
This turned out to be another high scoring game played in blustery conditions at Pentland Gardens on Monday 3rd July. The Weobley opening pair of Archie and George Stevenson put on 128 for the opening partnership, Archie scoring 76 and Barney 25. Alex Lowther made a good 20 n.o. to boost the score. For Lady Hawkins, there were wickets for Alex Williams, Emily Priday and Ellie Ford and a good stumping for captain Otto Parry. In reply, LHS scored 58/1 off 5.5. overs with Conor Powles and Otto both scoring 33. Jack Jones made a brisk 15 ; Joseph Houchin , who had been injured whilst bowling, made a good 20 n.o. to steer Lady Hawkins to a narrow win in the last over. For Weobley, Alex Lowther took 2 wickets and Archie Stevenson took 2-13 off his 4 overs.
Mr Peter Reed, representing the Price family, presented the Ed Price Plate to the winning captain, Otto Parry.
Softball :Year 10 Girls playing for John Burgoyne Cup
4 schools entered this competition.: Lady Hawkins x 2, Kingstone High and Lucton.
All played all on 2 pitches at Pentland Gardens.
In the final, Lady Hawkins A team scored 93 against Lucton 34. Good athletic fielding from both teams.
For the 3rd/ 4th play off. Lady Hawkins B beat Kingstone.
Mrs Rosemary Burgoyne presented the John Burgoyne Cup to the winning captain, after Simon Swancott from Hereford Lions Club had outlined his close friendship with John Burgoyne and their joint association with Kington. Bob Hall thanked Hereford Lions Club for their 20 year sponsorship of Schools Cricket.

Dan Thomas organised a softball competition for years 8 and 9. 8 teams took part : Aylestone, Earl Mortimer, Fairfield, Lucton with 2 teams each from Kingstone High and Whitecross. With 2 leagues the winners from each league played for the Cup, and the two 2nd placed teams played for the Plate.

There was a good standard of fielding shown . In the final Kingstone held 5 excellent catches .
Mr Richard Wydenbach, Hon President Schools Cricket Association, presented his Plate to the winning Whitecross captain, and his Cup to the captain of Kingstone B, Freddie Morris, who had scored an excellent 20 in the final.
David English under 12 Cup Softball
12 schools competed at Pentland Gardens for the softball trophy. In the final Earl Mortimer College beat Lady Hawkins in a well contested match
Mr Richard Wydenbach, Hon President HSCA, presented runners up medals to LHS and winners medal and the u 12 cup to Earl Mortimer.
