Develop Your Coaching Skills This Winter
Herefordshire Cricket is delighted to offer four new ECB Coach Development Workshops this November and December, giving coaches practical ideas to take back to their clubs and coaching sessions.

Taking place at Bridge Street Sports Centre, Leominster, the workshops cover everything from keeping junior groups active and engaged to making the most of net practice and refreshing technical knowledge.

Sessions will be delivered mainly by Herefordshire Cricket staff and cost £15 per workshop, or £50 for all four.

Sunday 29 November 2026
Coaching Groups and Maximising Participation
10am–12.45pm

Designed particularly for coaches working with club junior sections, this workshop explores how to deliver organised, inclusive and engaging sessions when working with larger groups.

Coaches will look at how to organise spaces and activities, reduce queuing, give clear instructions and encourage positive behaviour through appropriate and enjoyable practices.

Transitioning from Softball to Hardball
1pm–4pm

The move from softball to hardball is an important stage in a young player’s development. This workshop will help junior coaches support that transition safely and progressively, building confidence alongside technical skills.

The session will explore how to recognise player readiness, introduce new challenges at the right pace and prioritise long-term development.

Sunday 6 December 2026
Maximising Nets
10am–12.45pm

Relevant to all coaches running net practices, this workshop will help you create sessions that are safe, active and purposeful.

Discover ways to organise players, manage rotations and reduce waiting time, while designing meaningful practices that better reflect match situations.

Technical Principles Revisited
1pm–4pm

An opportunity for coaches across the game to refresh their understanding of the core principles of batting, bowling, fielding and wicketkeeping.

This workshop will also revisit observation and analysis skills, helping coaches identify what players need and design practices that support their development.

Book Your Place
Whether you coach a club junior group or want to strengthen your technical understanding, these workshops offer a practical opportunity to develop your skills.

All sessions involve practical activity, so please wear a tracksuit and trainers.
