Bartestree & Lugwardine Walking Cricketers Shine at National Competition

Bartestree & Lugwardine Walking Cricket Club enjoyed a memorable day at the National Walking Cricket Competition, held at the iconic New Road, home of Worcestershire County Cricket Club.

Representing Herefordshire against teams from across England, the side produced an outstanding performance, winning three of their four matches and showcasing the excellent progress they have made as a team.

The event brought together walking cricket clubs from around the country for a day of friendly competition, camaraderie and celebration of the game. Alongside the cricket, players enjoyed a delicious lunch and the unique opportunity to play at one of the country's most recognisable cricket grounds.

Team captain Roger was delighted with the team's performance and the experience of competing on such a prestigious stage.

"I am proud of my team and how far we have come in a short space of time. To come and play cricket here is very special, and to win some games against opposition from all parts of the country was a huge bonus!"
Walking cricket continues to grow in popularity across Herefordshire, providing an enjoyable, inclusive way for people of all abilities to stay active, meet new people and continue playing the game they love.
