HSCA set up and manage all of the schools competitions during the season.  

Jack Roberts Cup - Hardball competition - 1st XI team

(winning school will go on to represent Herefordshire as per previous winners of U15 comp) 

Chadd Cup & Price Plate - Hardball competition 

All years can play in any of the teams at hardball levels, both boys and girls.

 

Richard Wydenbach Cup and Plate - Year 7/8/9 pupils - 8 a side, pairs cricket, 1 day festival competition

David English Trophy - Year 7 students (non club cricketers) - 6 a side, pairs cricket, 1 day festival style competition 

John Burgoyne Cup - Girls only - Pairs festival

Jack Roberts Cup Final (u 15's )
Hereford Cathedral 141/4 John Kyrle 108/8 Cathedral won by 33 runs
In a competitive match of good quality, Cathedral batted well to post a formidable
total. After a loss of 3 early wickets, Herbie Low ( 62) and Seb Thompson ( 28) had a
stand of 98. In reply, Harry Hollanby top scored for John Kyrle with a well made 62.
Good bowling from Will Kennedy ( 2 wickets) and Herbie Low ( 1-21) restricted the
scoring opportunities for John Kyrle.  Mrs Carole Roberts presented the Jack Roberts Cup to Will Kennedy . The winning
captain.
Cathedral went on to represent Herefordshire in the Midlands rounds of the T20
competition. They played Shrewsbury, the Shropshire winners.

Chadd Cup Yrs 7/8. Hereford Cathedral 195/5 Bishops 76 All Out HCS wonby
119 runs. A wonderful 2nd wicket stand of 138 between Avi Singh ( 87) and Finn Goodwin (48)
set the bar high for quality batting. Good support from Freddie Turtle ( 22) ensured a
very competitive total. In reply, Bishops lost early wickets to Harry Coles ( 4-4), and
Charlie Fowler ( 2-11) with one wicket apiece for Freddie Turtle, Ralph Greenway nd
Heath Palmer. Arthur Hanley top scored for Bishops with 28.
Mrs Kirsty Sockett, daughter of John Chadd, presented the Chadd Cup to the winning
captain, Avi Singh.


John Burgoyne Cup Year 9/10 girls Hardball.
Hereford Cathedral School 94/9 Lady Hawkins 116/4 Lady Hawkins won by
22 runs Lady Hawkins batted first. Issy Howard 34 and Emmy Lou Parry had a stand of 65
for the 2nd wicket. Liz James scored 13. In reply good catching and fielding restricted
Cathedral. Flo Brown made 23, Hattie 21 and Elodie 14. 2 catches each for Emmy
Lou and Goldie.
Mrs Rosemary Burgoyne presented the John Burgoyne Cup to the winning captain.


Softball : Hundred Rules , 8 a-side and batting in pairs.
Ed Price Plate Year 8 Boys Weobley 337/4 John Masefield 248/5
Weobley won by 89 runs.
Noah Herbert scored a quickfire 75 for the start of the Weobley innings. Normality resumed
afterwards with John Masefield bowling and fielding well. Masefield batted sensibly.
Mr Richard Wydenbach, Hon President HSCA presented the Ed Price Plate to the
winning captain from Weobley.


Haines Watts Cup Yrs 7 and 8 girls
Lady Hawkins 266/3 Bishops 233/7
Bishops posted a good score but lost too many wickets. Lady Hawkins batted well,
and lost fewer wickets .  Mr Richard Wydenbach, Hon President HSCA presented the Haines Watts Cup to the winning captain.

Richard Wydenbach Cup Year 9 Boys John Masefield 195/11 Lady Hawkins
282/7. A good all round team performance from Lady Hawkins after Masefield had lost a
few too many wickets. Mr Richard Wydenbach, Hon President Herefordshire Schools Cricket Association,
then presented his own trophy to the winning captain and the RW Plate to John
Masefield.


Chadd Cup under 12 Softball
12 teams competed at Pentland Gardens for the softball trophy. There were two close
semi-finals. Bishops beat Lady Hawkins and Wigmore beat Bishops B In the final,
Bishops beat a spirited Wigmore side. Mr Richard Wydenbach, Hon President HSCA, presented the u12 Cup to the Bishops
captain.
